In my speech, I referred to teachers as the backbone of our society and quoted a phrase (anonymous), "... to those who can nurture two blades of grass or two ears of corn, to grow on a spot of ground where one had grown before, deserve better of mankind than any of those politicians combined."

ripplemaker, awesome collection of quotes for teachers. One that really stands out for me is:"They may forget what you say but they will never forget how you made them feel." As a teacher I have found out just how true this statement is. I work with "special" children and love every minute of it. It's wonderful to run across a child a few years after they have left you to find them doing things that people said they would never be able to do. They may not be remember how some of the lessons you so patiently went over time and time again but they will remember you and how you made them feel about themselves. Great hub.

Actually, the name of the gentleman who is quoted as making the difference in the life of a child was Forest Witcraft, PhD. For some reason we tend to look at his last name and sometimes see another familiar word instead of the actual spelling. Dr. Witcraft was a minister and scoutmaster. His essay, "Within My Power," appeared on page 2 of Scouting magazine in October of 1950.

I love and saport that teacher, who teach any good behavior, or good skills any chiled. Now U all can think this wold.
